Portuguese tarts. My first was in Macau. I didn't appreciate it. I had one many years after, once I'd had what I like to call my "foodie awakening" and I regretted paying so little attention to my first. A friend of mine shared a Portuguese tart from Nova Era with me one day and it was delightful. The inside was wonderfully creamy and the crust was so incredibly flaky. It also wasn't too sweet, which I appreciated a lot. Be careful. If you aren't gentle with it, this dessert will fall apart when you bite it, but it's sooo worth it.
