| - Our family attended the US National Whitewater Center for the July 4th activities (2016).
Although really hot & humid out, we arrived around 6:30pm so we could enjoy the bands playing & the people before the fireworks at 9:30pm. We found a great parking spot in the lower grass field 3 rows from the front. Made our way to the grass on the hill and watched & heard all! The music was great and the people watching was fun too! The fireworks was nice and was 20 minutes MAX. The not so fun was leaving in our car.
First of all, it was a free for all in leaving the parking field, (there were no flaggers in the aisles for helping frustrated drivers in 'doing the right thing for your fellow driver, kind of thing'). This brought out the EVIL people who had been drinking or were on drugs, who were attempting to manuveur their way out of the field.
Scenario: Upon our patient attempts to leave our aisle, we & the normal patient people, had to deal with a car of YOUNG MEN ADULTS who felt that they were ENTITLED to not share the road in a HUMANE way. They were refusing to let people in to the main stream of cars leaving the aisles & were not observing 'every other car enters formality' that most humane people abide by.
In our aisle and already in our car, two cars back in line to enter the main stream leaving the field. The cars were at a stand still & people walking to reach their cars were streaming in & out of the main line of cars making it hard to enter the main line out of the parking lot.
Three people arrived at their parked car on our right (aisles included cars parked on the left & on the right). The driver didn't even have all it's passengers when we were already in the line to leave our aisle. He had to call out to his fellow passenger aisles away, where they were located & that they were leaving. After smoking many cigarette's & not even in his car, this driver got in his car & then manuevered his car beside ours & inched by inch'd his way in behind the car that was (now at a 'T') in front of us. We had already been in our car for a half an hour AND he was going to show US how 'it is done'!! When we finally made it as close as we could to the stream of outgoing cars (although now not moving) we had to deal with this NOT HUMAN young driver to our right who was now refusing to let us in, As the line began to move, he refused to let us in. At this point we were inching our way in, and he was not going to let us in, whereby the NOT HUMANE driver was yelling every four letter word at us for even trying to get in the line that we had already been waiting patiently for ...for now 40 minutes. He yelled at us, you f-----, I'm going to F--- you up (countless times), and so many expetives that I can not fathom to repeat! Our car had my husband & I, our two young adult sons, and a neice who was visiting us from another state ... & we were in disbelief at what this INHUMANE form of a person was saying to us, for what, for us patiently waiting our turn & common courtesy in getting in line?
With fear of an accident, we relented to let this INHUMANE FORM 'take the spot' & what he did next is incredible! Because we weren't going to be bullied by this bully, whereby attempting to get in the line that we had already been patiently waited for, once in front of us, he then let every other car in front of their car, in from the above aisles ... telling them whatever. Finally out of the parking lot & still behind this NOT HUMANE driver, while passing a motorcycle officer, I yelled loudly out the window that the car was a drunk driver, the motorcycle officer yelled back, 'PROBABLY'! Wow, not even support from our officers!!
We will not be attending the free for all 'JERK time' next year at the US Whitewate Center AND you may want to think twice too with how they handle the parking FREE FOR ALL!
Also, if anyone in law enforcement reads this and is interested in this INHUMANE form's NC license plate tag, we have it and I would be willing to go further with it, there were plenty of witnesses.
