  • I went to Dr. Shah for treatment of allergies. At first, my impression of her was neutral--I spent more time with her PA and med tech/nurses than with her. Going through the allergy testing was painless because her PA was very thorough in explaining everything throughout the process. I got about 2 minutes with Dr. Shah after it was done. I began sublingual drops allergy treatments because I am on a beta blocker. Dr. Shah prescribed an epic pen for use should I have an anaphylaxis reaction, with instructions to carry it with me at all times and to immediately call 911 if I have to use it. I received my drops and went home. US insurance does not cover the drops so I was aware I needed to pay out of pocket. Dr. Shah told me to call a few days before I needed to puck up my next 3-month supply to pay for them. When her office staff called to confirm my appointment, I told them I needed to pay for my drops. I was told "you can pay for them when you come in." I arrived for my appointment...no drops made up because I didn't pay. I got upset and Dr Shah mixed them up for me. By the time my next 3 month appointment had come, I had been out of drops for a week. I called them and asked to pay for my drops. I was informed that they did not take credit card info over the phone and I would have to come in BEFORE my appointment to pay for them. I live 15 miles away, so a 30 mile round trip for what I was initially told I could do over the phone? NO. At my previous appointment, I tried to pay for my next dose...No. I offered to leave my credit card on file to pay for them...NO. When I showed up for my appointment, no drops were made up and I admit, I lost it...and then walked out, never to return. I have now found another allergist that told me something (and my cardiologist confirmed) Dr. Shah did not tell me that because of my beta blocker, if I have to use the epi-pen and the EMT's do not get to me soon enough, there's a small chance I could DIE! HELLO? Is this not important? My new allergist has reached out to my cardiologist to come up with a SAFE plan to help me with my severe allergies. Dr. Shah is a nice person, and is probably a phenomenal doctor. But the poor communication with her staff and her leaving out a vital piece of information caused me to write this review.
