| - Thanks, Yelp, for listing this swell car-care place! My ancient luxury barge was seriously degraded at a quickie car wash last week, where they cooked the original glue out of four door seals with some ungodly process, which we did not request. My husband indulged in a lot of research here at Yelp and after reading great reviews for this outfit, we decided to phone Windy City Wash and Wax. The affable fellow in charge, Nick, said that our problem sounded like it was caused by "degreaser". Nick also said he would be glad to take a look and see what could be done to remove the melted glue. We wanted our old car detailed anyway, so we ordered the full treatment. Not only did they make the elderly pile look like new, including its cloth top, but the crew steamed the sticky glue off its rubber door seals completely, spending six hours total on the sad things. (Later that evening, my husband was able to glue the door seals back in place with "Tough as Nails" bad-ass adhesive.)
The whole experience with Windy City Wash & Wax was superb, and quite reasonably-priced. And we learned a valuable lesson: never take the car to an automated brush-beating car wash. This excellent company has earned our loyalty.
