| - I've been a patient of Dr Rosenstein for 2 years now. I recently got a uti infection that went to my kidney. Went to quickcare first on a weekend due to immense pain, malaise , etc.. That antibiotic did not help, so I made an appt with Rosenstein. Almost 4 weeks later he still hasn't cleared it up & has NOT followed through with calling a urologist specialist (Dr Finkelstein) to get me in asap. I took an at home uti test, it's still coming up infected. He finally suggested I do an ultrasound, it's extremely painful when you have kidney issues & worse yet he refused to put stat on results, expects me to wait 2WEEKS!! I'm extremely ticked off! I'm a mother of five, I cannot be in the hospital & trying hard to stay out but this type of inability to listen to your patient immediately is going to cause me serious issues.
I hope he starts listening & following through with correct blood test & CT scan w/dye as that's what I need. He told me I'm severely anemic due to heavy periods , wouldn't even let me explain I have had an anemia issue my whole life & get infusions from Dr.Sanitinia due to intestinal issues (which Rosenstein has been told about this but I don't think he checks the chart before seeing you)
Update:as of November 2017, I went in to see my urologist (found via my insurance)
After 1 month of attempting to get my ultrasound from Rosenstein office, I'm finally told if I come in person I can get it (2 days before my specialist appt) I go in & am told that I need to give 24 hr notice so I told her, I spoke with you two days ago, you've had 48 hr notice. She says, ok have a seat. I wait for 15 minutes then am told, Mrs.Hyde we don't have a kidney ultrasound.
I said, that's not possible, I came in early October & did the ultrasound, you've hung onto it for over a month now while your doctor claims I only had a UTI.
She says,"well, I do show a stomach ultrasound on Oct."
I smile & say, fine give me results to stomach ultrasound & id like the pictures the radiologist read. They refused to give me the pictures, only the report!
So, I look at the report & Ill BE DAMNED!!CALCIFICATIONS IN MY KIDNEY!! THIS DOCTOR HAD A REPORT SHOWING I HAD STONES IN MY KIDNEY AND HUNG ONTO IT FOR OVER A MONTH, JUST WRITING SCRIPTS FOR A UTI THAT WAS ALREADY GONE BUT I WAS IN PAIN FROM THE STONE IN MY KIDNEY, HE DID NOTHING TO HELP ME GET IN TO A UROLOGIST AFTER I TOLD HIM SINCE EARLY OCTOBER THAT I HAD EITHER A KIDNEY INFECTION OR STONES & NNOW HERES THE PROOF, yet he fires me as a patient the second I write a poor yelp review & still hangs on to my report, does not notify me that it's a stone, nothing!!
I was in THE WORST PAIN of my life, mind you, I've given birth multiple times. The kicker here, is if that stone had lodged itself in the ureter & blocked the ureter, it could have killed me & that's why I'm so upset with this doctor and his lack of empathy. If I have reached one person with this review them I'm glad.
Listen, I know doctors are human & make mistakes. I'm not faulting Dr.Rosenstein for his mistake. I'm faulting him for the way he handled it after he was confronted with it. His behavior after being confronted with his mistake was ego driven and unethical. Had he said, "I apologize for my over sight, let's see what we can do to get this taken care of right away."
I would not only have respect for him as a professional but I would trust him. I believe it's ok & human to error, it's how we learn from that and move forward that makes us successful!!
