  • I decided that today was such a hot day outside, what could be better than sitting inside a nice cool, air-conditioned theater, and watching a movie? Also, because it is $5 Tuesday (shows are five bucks for AMC Stubs rewards members) it won't break the bank. Well, that wasn't meant to to be, since after I bought my ticket and went inside the theater, the air conditioning was not working (sad face), and it was pretty warm in there. I am also not a big fan of the seats here. The seats themselves aren't bad, but the wooden armrests are not comfortable to me at all. The wood edges poke into my arm, meaning I am constantly having to adjust positions. I will echo all the other reviewers that complained about the bright green exit lights inside the theater. Yes, they are too bright in a dark space, and there were three of them, giving off a weird green glow. Strangely, during the previews, they even aired a little promo piece from the Mt. Lebanon Fire Department that talked about fire alarms and the emergency exits, which was actually foreshadowing, as you will read, since about 3/4ths of the way through the film, the fire alarms and strobe lights starting going off, and we had to evacuate the theater, crazy right? As we were evacuating I did notice that the movie was paused, so I was hoping that perhaps it was a false alarm, and we would be able to go back and pick up where we left off, once the building was given the all clear. I did evacuate the building, and after about 30 minutes or so, the alarm was turned off, and I went back to the theater. The doors were locked, and maybe after about 15 minutes of waiting, an employee came out and told us that they would not be resuming any of the movies, but if we showed out ticket stubs, we would be allowed back in during another showing, which I will have to do on a different day. By the way, I am not bitter about the fire alarm, that is certainly not the fault of the theater, so my rating is simply based on the seats and the exit signs, and maybe the air conditioning too, which I hope is fixed when I go back to see the end of my movie (assuming it doesn't leave the theater before I get to go back). UPDATE: Went back the next to finish seeing the movie. No problems, and the air conditioning was much better this time. Cheers!
