I was disgusted to see today how a specific handler treated a dog that was just owner surrendered. A small white shepherd mix puppy who couldn't have weighed more than 30 lbs and was very gentle to start with, as I watched the owner handling the dog prior to the surrender. The worker carried the dog in one arm and tossed the dog into the kennel like a sack of trash.
Tears fell down my face, and outraged I brought up my concern to the man in the receiving area who didn't even look at me when I spoke. the woman next to me said she had seen that woman treating another dog badly.
This was at the Mesa location on Rio Salado, large woman with earrings and short hair is the description of the worker.
it saddens me greatly that a person employed or put in a place to take in animals would treat them like nothing but an object to be disposed of. I would never go back if I could help it, and it's sad sad sad because I was there to adopt and left crying.
