| - Such a neat and spacious theatre to watch independent films!
There's always something unique playing at the Cinematheque, a full sized movie theatre situated inside the Cleveland Institute of Art. You can experience films that are biographical, historical, cultural revolutions, social commentary, and new releases by rising directors - just to name a few genres. Spending an afternoon or an evening at this cinema is like hanging out with that one eccentric friend who always has something fresh to say, a statement to make, with no two encounters ever alike. For more specific examples, my two most recent visits here were for Director Justin Chon's film "gook" and an early Greta Gerwig-directed film "Francis Ha". Both were exceptional experiences!
Prices are quite reasonable - it's $10/ticket for adults, or you can take advantage of the discount for students and those age 25 and under ($7/ticket). There are plenty of seats (lecture-hall style) in the theatre so you will often times have your own personal row.
Free parking can be found behind the CIA building, or across the street behind Constantino's. All entrance doors are locked in the evening right now except for the "C doors", so be sure to walk around to the back of CIA to get to the lobby area for the Cinematheque!
