After having a horrible experience at Festival Dental, I came here for what I thought would be a simple cleaning. Little did I know that they are part of the same company and my experience was just as bad. I had the roughest, most painful periodontal exam I've ever experienced and was told I'd need root planing along with laser treatments to repair my gums (and left with a mouthful of blood). They then sent over their "salesperson" (at least that's what it felt like) to tell me it would be $600 out of pocket for these treatments. It seemed strange to me, because I've gone long between dental cleanings before and have never even heard the term root planing. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion and was told that I absolutely did not need root planing. In fact, the only part of my gums that had a significant "pocket" was where Dr. Mallory (at the other location) shoved a piece of cement up into my gum while putting in my crown, causing a massive irritation.
Oh, and by the way, they definitely know their practices are shady because they put up a huge fight regarding the transfer of my xrays (for which they had undoubtedly already charged my insurance). I was prepared to sign a waiver but they refused to transfer them digitally, instead printing them out for me (probably in the hopes that I wouldn't feel like going in to pick them up).
I would be really careful about trusting this entire chain of dental offices. If you're looking for a fantastic dentist who is conservative in his treatments and has a great chairside manner, I would go to Dr. Jeffrey Wellman at Canyon Springs Dental- he and his entire staff are wonderful.
