I love their dinner but this review is for Sunday brunch. First off they don't take reservations for brunch but we were immediately seated. The noise level was quite loud and everytime I've dined here I've been uncomfortably warm which it very unusual for me. I love the decor and large window to the street. Our server was very attentive and the food came out fairly quick.
I wasn't as impressed with the food compared to their dinner menu. Everything sounded great but unfortunately it was just ok for me when I tasted it. I kept thinking about things to add to the dish that would make it better. I got the crab cake Benedict. I didn't even taste the crab cake and I prefer a more zesty hollandaise. The flavors didn't really pair well with the heavy biscuit underneath. I also tried my husband's chicken sandwich. It was pretty good but again I kept thinking it lacked a punch. Perhaps a spicy aioli. The French press was really good and we got the sticky biscuits as and app. Unfortunately they were too doughy for my tatse. You cant go wrong with the maw maw biscuits. I think from now on I'll stick to dinner.
