This was my first experience having Shabu Shabu. I've heard about it but didn't really know what it was. My boyfriend explained a little while in the way here and I'm always up for trying something new. Cutely decored and intimate. I was surprised to see most tables filled up at lunchtime. The tables have a flat heating surface on them almost like kbbq grills but it's like a electric glass too stove. We decided on the lunch special which was more than enough for each person because you can get free refills on rice, salad and veggies to cook in your Shabu pot. Be careful with the rice because the salad is so good I ate like 3 bowls of that and you'll get full quickly eating a lot of rice. There were two options of broths a seaweed and a sweeter broth. The seaweed broth allowed us to have the dipping sauce to dip your meat and vegetables in. Basically you cook your meat and veggies duo it in the sauce and devour. I was a bit afraid of boiling meats so to speak I was scared they would be lifeless and tasteless. You're not necessarily boiling meat. It's a quick dip and cooking process into the pot. The dipping sauce definitely helped bring them to life. Just don't overcook your meat and veggies they will become tough and veggies will be soggy. Our waitress was so attentive and brought us plenty of extra salad and veggies as requested. The salad dressing they serve is so delicious. I wanted extra salad and ate about 3 bowls. I like to fill up on veggies as you can tell. I would definitely come back the price point and service were great and it's the closest Shabu Shabu place close to Henderson.
