| - i admit my rating night be somewhat colored by the fact that this location is SO far from me that the destination really had to be worth the trip. It kind of was and kind of wasn't.
I was really happy with the meat selection, variety of baked goods (including cannoli with the shells sold separately from the filling - a must), and overall treasure hunt feel because you never know what you're going to find. (A recent addition to our household has an inexplicable fondness for Shasta Tiki Punch, and they sell it here by the 12 pack for $2.50. Score!)
They had a lot of items on sale like oranges for 50 cents a pound, small artichokes 4 for a dollar, and boneless chicken breast for $1.44 a pound, Pretty good. But, if you come here seeking treats from the East like Drake's Cakes or Wise chips, they seemed hideously overpriced (especially since they recently had a flood of Wise chips on sale at my beloved 99 cent store).
And they have a pretty good stock of wine but check Lee's or Walmart first to make sure you're really getting a bargain.
Finally, we stopped at the counter for lunch on the way out and were pretty disappointed. The employees are nice enough but the reuben was a scrawny panini and the shrimp sandwich special was watery, bland and flavorless.
I will probably go back because Babygirl loved the hot links I found there, Logilicious consumes Tiki Punch like the apocalypse is near, and I really want to try those cannolis.
However, it can wait until I'm headed to that side of town anyway.
