| - Went here on July 4th with family for dim sum. This is the first time we've been to the new location inside the Gold Coast. We arrived a little after 11:00 am and waited over an hour before being seated. I just wish the wait would have been worth it-at least the service part. For the most part the food was above average (4 stars), but the service was horrendous (1 star).
Food
We had the following: steamed chicken feet (good), baked bbq pork bun (very good), shrimp hargow (very good), fried sesame ball (very good), steamed pork spareribs (most of the pieces had too much fat), eggrolls (2 plates half had holes and were burnt, but good), baked egg tart (very good-only 2 on plate but they were big), sticky rice in lotus leaf (only 1 on plate and pretty bad-way toooooo much soy sauce or whatever sauce is part of it), rice noodle roll with shrimp (very good), and bean curd skin (horrible-way too much meat-it didn't taste normal-almost dumpling like, no bamboo shoots).
Service
For 3/4 of the plates we had, we had to flag people down get the food. Once we asked for them to calculate our bill, it took about 10 minutes. NEVER had to wait this long at any dim sum place to get bill. Once I received the bill, I went to the front to pay. There were two people up front handling the bills and payments. No one was in line to pay but they were finishing ringing up the bill for another table. I thought I would be next since I was just standing there waiting. No. One lady just started doing some other stuff, while I patiently waited. This lady then went behind the screen and was given another bill and they processed this one before me-I'm just still standing there so I turned my back on them and looked out at the casino for about 2-3 minutes. Finally, they said excuse me so I turned around and I thought that I can now finally pay my bill. The other lady thought they were processing my bill, but the first lady said that it wasn't mine, so I had to wait another 30 seconds before they finally took my bill.
I don't expect very good service at Chinese restaurants, but the experience I had regarding the bill calculation and paying the bill takes my Chinese restaurant experience to a brand new low.
