  • My husband and I stopped by this Jaguar / Land Rover dealership TWICE to look at a new SUV for him (Land Rover) and a new sports car for me (Jaguar). Both times we were totally and thoroughly ignored. We visited during non-busy daytime hours (our first visit we saw one other customer on property, the second visit yielded zero other customers). We walked around the lot as I "oohed" and "aaahed" at the gorgeous Jags and finally decided I wanted more information about the racy F-Type. There were several beauties on the lot and I wanted to take a look, sit inside one, and have my long list of questions about options and pricing answered. I was ready to buy that day. After hanging out on the lot for about 10 minutes and not being approached by anyone, we headed inside. There were about three salespeople sitting at their desks but not one said hello. We did not see nor encounter a receptionist. At this point we started looking at the vehicles inside, and still not a peep from anyone in there -- nothing! Maybe we should have approached the employees sitting at their desks, but I shouldn't have to do that at a high-end car dealership. The longer we stayed, the angrier I got, and the more determined I was to see how long I could stay in there before SOMEONE, ANYONE offered their assistance. Well, nobody ever did. So we walked out. A similar pattern of events unfolded on our subsequent visit when hubby wanted to test drive a Land Rover. There was no offer of assistance although several salespeople appeared to be available. I don't know if this is the norm for the sales side of this dealership and I don't know if they were just too lazy or they were judging us based on how we were dressed or our age, but this place missed at least one sale (quite possibly TWO sales). My husband ended up buying a new Mercedes and I custom ordered a Porsche, although our first choices were both the Land Rover and the Jaguar F-Type. Will this dealership care about losing our business? Probably not, but they should.
