| - This smaller gym located in the Von's parking lot at the front of the street on Durango and corner of Warm Springs, (next to Little Caesar's Pizza!)
As you walk in you have a sign in desk and once in you notice the cardio equipment facing Durango, treadmills, Arc Trainers, Steppers and Step Mills, not a huge numbers but just enough to get the job done. There is also 2 spin bikes located inside the gym.
Behind the cardio equipment is Atlantis machine designed by Charles R. Poliquin. They are certainly some of the smoothest machines I have used over the years in comparison.
The gym also provides a full cable system rack, leg press, flat benches, incline benches, shoulder bench, SmithMachine, Power Rack, Tbar rows and premade EZ Bar weights.
Along with Hampton Free weights/dumbells from 5lbs up to 120lbs.
There is another room located within the gym that is a CrossFit build out consisting of two full power racks, TRX, kettle bells, rowing machines, spin bike, battle ropes and rubber olympic weights with a rubberized flooring. Mirrors on two walls with one wall containing The Exercise Wall, which is a while separate type of body training provided by one of the personal trainers.
There is also a couple of tanning booths and of course mens/womens lockers with showers and gym lockers. Be sure to bring your own lock. Also within the facility is a cooler with drinks, protein shakes or purchase one to be made along with a few supplements that are on the shelves.
Overall, I truly like this facility for a few reasons: 1) its a smaller type gym and not overly crowded at any time of the day; 2) it provides all the necessary items to get your workout complete, yes, it doesn't have every piece of equipment like a few of the bigger commerical gyms; 3) the atmosphere is very relaxed and not uptight with body image and guys flexing or posing; 4) it has several TV's along the cardio walls to keep you entertained along with XM Radio music; 5) FREE Wi-Fi !!!!; 6) its close to my house; and 7) the owners Chris & Shelly Yakimchuk make it a great place to train.
Oh, I forgot to mention, HOW CLEAN THIS GYM IS!!! I have never been in such a clean place. They are always dusting, wiping, buffing and making sure everything is in tip top order, i'm serious, I have never seen such a clean gym!
If I had to pick a negative I wish they opened at 5 am instead of 6 am but geez they need to sleep too! :-)
