I'm basing my review on my Sunday night experience.
I've just returned from the Wilson 96, where I go from time to time on Sunday for the Karaoke night. It's a low key, comfortable atmosphere, and an all around fun karaoke experience.
There was a blend of trained and amateur singers. Those who weren't as trained were coaxed into feeling relaxed by the host who told them, "Never apologize for karaoke." In fact, the night is called "Shameless Karaoke" -- which I think is very clever.
The audio quality is better than most of the karaoke places I've been to. I could hear myself through the monitor, which is rare. The song selection is an eclectic array of music from way back when to right now. The host offered to record me singing and email it to me, which I found very thoughtful.
The wilson 96 is a small space with a good amount of tables huddled together at the front and barstools surrounding the bar. I've only come on a Sunday, and I keep coming back! I recommend Shameless Karaoke at The Wilson 96 to any Karaoke enthusiast or aspiring singer.
UPDATE:
I'm so flattered that this is the review of the day (August 26)!
If you are thinking of going here for karaoke, I suggest that you call first to make sure that this night is still happening. I think it has changed to being a bi-monthly event since I wrote this review in April.
