| - I was visiting in the area due to my job, living out of a hotel and eating out every night, and saw "Thai Buffet" as I was driving around looking for a place to eat. I liked the thought of being able to try a variety of Thai dishes off a buffet, so I pulled in and asked if I could take a look at the buffet and decide if I wanted to eat there.
Although I live in Alabama, I grew up in south Louisiana, where I learned early on that the decor of a restaurant has nothing to do with the quality of the meal. After two weeks in Mesa eating out every night, I had not found an area restaurant whose food was exceptional and delightful to my palate in its own special and unique way.
Thai buffet changed that.
When I looked at the buffet, I instantly decided to dine there. The the mix of colors and aromas from the dishes on the buffet, and the freshness of the ingredients that was evident, were assurance that I would enjoy my meal.
While I was eating, Joann and her daughter made me feel like family. This was such a nice touch especially considering that they were doing everything else as well.
Along with the buffet I had ordered beef salad (fabulous and prepared fresh); while I was waiting for the beef salad Joann asked if I would like to try some beef fried rice, which was absolutely to die for. As someone who knows and loves good food, I tip my hat to Joann. She is serving food that is being prepared artfully and without compromise;
My only regret is that I did not find this restaurant until my last night in Mesa. I put this restaurant in the category of being a hidden treasure, a diamond in the rough. I'm all about great food, and can 100% guarantee that if ever I am in the area again, this will be my first stop. I so hope I have the chance!
