My first time here and I'm in love! We didn't know that happy hour went til 7 so it was a very pleasant surprise. We ordered 4 items off the happy hour menu: spicy tuna roll, salmon and avocado roll, a shrimp tempura roll and albacore sashimi. While these items all sound basic, they were anything but. They tasted so fresh and full of flavor. I actually loved the simplicity of the rolls because I am so sick of the typical sauce-drenched rolls masking their mediocrity behind pools of spicy mayo and dollops of eel sauce. In stark contrast, you could taste the fresh fish of each of these rolls, along with whatever crisp or tender veggie it was rolled with, and perfectly cooked rice served at just the right temperature as needed to taste the balance of the subtle rice vinegar.
We sat at the sushi bar and watched the chefs create all of their masterpieces. It was mesmerizing. Even while there were extremely busy, they were always friendly and helpful and found time to check on us. The chef saw my friend give me a birthday card and they sent out some Mochi with a birthday candle and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday. It was the nicest thing ever! The food and the service were both amazing and this is now my new favorite spot. To top it off, because we made it for happy hour, our bill was unbelievably low.
