| - Another fun evening with my Yelp Elite friends! I had previously visited this space when it was Tamari, so I was excited to give Pan a try.
Overall, I thought the quality of the food was wonderful. The edamame hummus with plantain chips was hands down a favorite. I could have eaten a whole bowl of it! This was actually my first time ever trying Nigiri, and while I was a little skeptical at first, I ended up really enjoying the flavor. Also notable was the tofu - I typically pass on tofu dishes, but the crispiness of it partnered with the amazing sauce made it so delicious! The drinks were good as well; I wasn't a huge fan of the dragonfruit cocktail as it was a little sweet for me, but the sake cocktail was light and refreshing. I would definitely come back to Pan for a happy hour in the near future.
On the other hand, I did find the setup of the event a little confusing. One of my favorite parts of a Yelp Elite event is when we get to hear from the business owner, head chef, or head bartender. I always love to get a little more detail on the history of the space and the menu options. We did get to hear from a staff member near the end of the night, but the music was so loud we unfortunately couldn't hear much of what he said. I think it might have been helpful to have just a little more structure to the evening; whenever new dishes were brought out, it was a mad dash to the counter in a very tight, narrow area! Don't get me wrong, my guest and I absolutely loved the event - I just think a little more structure (and maybe a couple more bartenders!) would have allowed Pan to shine even more than it already did.
All in all, I enjoyed this event and am thrilled that I got to try a new restaurant in my neighborhood!
