| - My regular dermatologist moved too far away. Decided to find a practice closer to home. Went to the Indian Trail location and saw "Dr." LaRoche. While she was nice enough, I do not feel she performed a thorough exam. The visit was somewhat rushed. Then she prescribed a medication the name of which she could not recall and the side effects of which she was either not aware or chose not to disclose. Further, the success rate of the medication is very low, not a motivator for the level of pain, disfiguring blisters, and misery it was sure to cause. In addition, she is not an MD, rather a DO which adds insult to injury as the medication would seem to violate homeopathic principles. A doctor, MD or otherwise, should be able to thoroughly explain to a patient possible side effects and success rates of any medication prescribed. If the patient needs to plan time off from work, this too should be discussed. Having a long history with various dermatologists over the years, I will begin the search again and contact my insurance company to recommend they discontinue relationship with this practice.
UPDATE: My son had a wart removed at the same visit I went to. Here we are two years later and his hand has been permanently disfigured by Dr. LaRoche. She over froze the area and the tissue is so damaged, it will require surgery to rectify her mistake.
