  • UPDATED REVIEW ** I loved this place but encountered an issue both of the last times I went. My first visit I got acrylic ...second visit wanted SNS, went home and a few days later the SNS started chipping off.. ( I have never had this happen before so I knew something was wrong) I immediately went in to the salon and asked that my nails be fixed. Instantly the manager was shooting rude looks toward my way. Implying that I had done something to mess them up. As the tech started working on my nails she had noticed that the acrylic was not taken off my nails completely and this is why the SNS was not sticking correctly. When they had asked me what colors I had - I changed 1 of the 2 colors because I didn't want to choose the same color that was chipping to begin with. The manager AGAIN was extremely rude and looked at me with a mean look and said "WHY? Why are you changing a color. When people come in to get their nails fixed they don't usually change a color"... So on top of me having to waste my time to go back into the salon I was treated with disrespect BY THE MANAGER. (So much for "the customer is always right"). A month goes by and I go back in to get a new set. I set an appointment; upon arrival I was told to take a seat at station 7 and I sat there for 30 minutes PAST my appointment time. No one comes to help me at all. I had to ask for the samples to pick what I wanted. When I finally go for my turn Koi asks me what I would like. I tell him. He gets started. After he has filed, shaved down and applied the tips...filed and shaped the tips. Was about to apply the acrylic he stops and begins writing in a book. Then looks at me and says "it's going to be $50". First off let me say I have NEVER paid that much for my nails EVER in my life and not at new moon. So I ask him why. He tells me $5 extra FOR THE COFFIN SHAPE. Who the hell charges to FILE YOUR NAILS!! & if you do then it's common business etiquette to mention this to the customer BEFORE starting so they know what they are getting into. $5 extra to put dip powder on only 2 of my nails at this point I'm pissed. Furious. I've wasted my time and they completely damaged my natural nails. It turned into a huge deal. They literally refused to let it slide considering it was their fuck up by not telling me it cost extra for certain things. I told them I was not going to pay and he said "I'll change the shape" UM WHAT WHY? You already shaped my nails!! It was such bullshit at this point they would have rather took the tips off and leave me with thin brittle nails then to let $5 slide. On their account for messing up. Never will I ever go back here!! Make sure you are asking what you are paying for before you just dish out your money! Crooks!! New to Arizona from Colorado and I have been on the hunt for a good nail salon! New Moon has satisfied me both times I've gone. This first picture of my [ almond shaped acrylic pink & rose gold ] nails is showing how amazing they still look a month after I got them done! Sadly I don't have a picture of them right after I got them. The 2nd picture is of my [ natural nails dipped in SNS ] that I got done yesterday 1/25/18 . I am extremely happy with what Koi has done to my nails both times. I am already excited thinking about what I will do next. Everyone in New Moon is very friendly.
