This is such a great bookstore. And the thing is, not many people know it's there, which makes it even better, in my opinion. More books for me!
Loganberry has a very good selection of used and new books. It's a beautiful store in what used to be a Studebaker dealership. The inventory has no particular focus or slant, although the shop has an impressive selection of art books and local history material. And the children's section is crazy good. I think they have the very, very best selection of greeting cards in town --I go in to stock up at least a few times a year for birthdays, etc.
The store has a good selection of new books, particularly from small and/or independent presses, but sometimes holdings can be hit-or-miss on current bestsellers. The very friendly staff is always willing to place special orders for what you want and even engage in a round of "stump the bookseller."
Check out the rotating calendar of special events on Thursday nights -- everything from a "classics you meant to read but never did" book club to live jazz performances. The store has a small gallery space and often hosts interesting gallery shows from local artists.
Make sure you say hello to Otis, the store's resident grey-and-white cat. He's very friendly and is always quick to introduce new friends to his store!
