I tried to take my 4 year old bowling on a Tuesday evening. We met some friends at Sunset Station, ate dinner and headed to the bowling alley. As we were walking the 100 yards or so from the entrance to the customer service desk we noticed that it was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday but were relieved to see that there were 15-20 open lanes. My son was very excited by the time we got to the cashier.
When we asked for a lane for 5 people we were rudely told that it was "league night" and lanes would not be available until after 9pm. I asked where that was posted and the woman motion toward an 8.5"x11" paper that was tilted at an angle where it was almost out of view. I asked her if we could please use one of the 20 dark lanes and she rudely told us, "No!".
I requested that she call a manager but was ignored and a manager never came.
It would have been nice if "league night" would have been more conspicuously posted or if they blocked out a few lanes for public use.
Since we had two disappointed kids we decided to put a few dollars in the arcade on the way out. My son was somewhat satisfied with the games but had his heart set on bowling.
We won't be back to Strike Zone. It is obvious that they take little pride customer service.
