My dining companion had expressed a desire on a few occasions to enjoy an afternoon of High Tea, so when an affordable Groupon for the same popped up, I jumped at the chance.
We arrived around 5:30 on a Thursday and the place was pretty much empty, although it filled up considerably the longer we sat there.
I suppose I should be honest and note that I've never really cared for tea - it's just flavored water! - and this didn't really change my mind. I went for the Once Upon a Tea option ("Chocolate Bits, Vanilla, Fruit Blend, Organic Mint & Organic Rooibos") and it was fine but I struggled to finish an entire mugful.
The food was uniformly mediocre, unfortunately. We were presented with an impressive array of small sandwiches and snacks, and though I ate everything in front of me, I would place the quality of the offerings on about the same level as a middle-of-the-road buffet.
The service was fine but slow; I had to actually get up to pay my bill, although our server was very apologetic and noted that the room was busier than usual. (Said Groupon was set to expire just a couple of days later.)
