| - I purchased a vehicle back in April 2017. I came in with an approval through Capital One, spoke with them directly to make sure everything was good to go, picked out a car from one of the dealers they worked with. We went in test drive and figured things would go smoothly since we had an approval already through a lender. We discussed the terms of the loan and the payment and reapplied to Capital One (they said I would need to do this once I got in to the dealership). After waiting for about half an hour or so they came back and started discussing other options to add on, gap insurance, extended warranty etc. We said that no we couldn't afford the add on's, we appreciated the offer but not thank you. At that point the finance person said what if I could get it to you for only $10.00 more a month. We said ok for $10.00 sure why not. We signed the papers and were on the road by 10:30. The terms of the contract were not discussed as we had discussed them previously before we added on the extended warranty and the gap insurance. We left there under the impression that our loan was through Capital One for the term already set in place and a payment 10.00 more than what we had discussed. We were so excited with how easy things seemed to go. We were exhausted as well as we had been there from 7:15-10:30 with two children in tow. Over the next few days we were sent papers to sign regarding the extended warranty and the gap insurance. After that was done we thought we were good to go. A few weeks later I received a call from a finance company saying they were the loan holder, it was not Capital One. I told them no you aren't we had approval through Capital One and that is who we went through. I started to think it was a scam and called the finance person we worked with. He said that we had to go through the lender that called and the terms were laid out in the contract we signed, it was an extra 12 months on our loan. I was shocked, what happened to the financing that we came in to the dealership with? I was upset that now we were going to be paying on this car for an extra 12 months. I figured there wasn't much we could do because we had signed the papers and just left it alone. Well I get a call from the finance manager on Monday stating that the paperwork has not gone through with the lender and what the lender is saying our payment is, is different than what it should be. He realized it was because they didn't have the gap and extended warranty included in the loan. He said that we would need to come down and resign paper work because the paper work the lender had was wrong. I said how could it be wrong? The paper I have shows the terms the lender stated to me at the payment listed on the contract. He asked if I could come down by Thursday to resign stuff. I told him no, my husband works and we live in Chandler, I have a copy of the contract I am not coming down to resign anything. Well I started realizing that he had lost our paper work and was needing to get copies to his manager. I decided to start doing some digging. I was told by the finance guy just a few days ago we were denied by capital one or we had to come up with $2000.00 down, information never told to us. I called Capital one and they said I was approved but the offer expired because it was not used. The dealership submitted the offer with zero down and we were approved but they never used the offer. Capital One knew we weren't putting anything down and approved us and made no counter offer to the dealership. I decided to try and refinance the car through Capital One for a lower interest rate and lower term, it came back that I could but only if I cancelled the gap and extended warranty because the loan to value was off by the cost of those two things. Shocker right? The $2000.00 down payment was because of the gap and extended warranty. We weren't denied as he had said to us a few days ago, but adding on the extra stuff put the loan to high for the cars value, therefore capital one would not finance the van. Because of this they sent our information to another lender and got us approved that way. Never once were we told that Capital One wasn't going to finance us unless we put $2000.00 down and never once were we told it was because of the extras we added on. We would have opted out of the extras had we known, and I believe they knew that and that is why the information was withheld. We also weren't told they were going to try other lenders, we did not approve that. Vladimir is not willing to do anything to compensate us for the deception, in fact he is blaming us. Now we are stuck making payments for the next 6 months till the cost of the gap and extended warranty is paid off and then can refinance after that. I do not recommend using this dealership. If you do, be aware and read everything and ask lots and lots of questions to make sure they are doing things correctly. Lots of deception going on.
