I went there this morning for the $1.99 breakfast which is available until 11 A.M.. I had eaten breakfast there in the past and was satisfied with the food and service but this was my first return in over six months. Unfortunately the experience was not what I hoped it would be.
I arrived at 10:35 but despite the short line it took a very long time to be seated, Rather than walk me to my seat, the greeter pointed to a booth in the far back and told me I could sit there. Having found my seat it took even longer for a waiting person to find me. So much time in fact that I decided to wait 10 minutes and have the lunch buffet which started at 11:00. Did I mention there was no cutlery on the table?
I asked for coffee while I waited for the buffet and the server returned about 5 minutes later with the coffee. This was the last time I saw the server in the hour I was there. I was never asked if I wanted my coffee refilled and I was left to my own devices to source eating utensils and a napkin.
As far as the food was concerned I was impressed by the quantity and selection of salads and desserts but the warm entrees were very unimpressive. There was a choice of four meat and fish dishes. There was a wrap containing Ham and Cheese which looked very uninteresting although I never tried it. The Beef and Mushroom Stew looked like a pool of gravy with some well hidden pieces of beef and mushroom lurking somewhere beneath the surface. I also tried the other hot selections which were Basa with Spinach Cream Sauce (the best of the hot entrees but very average) and a piece of Carved Whole Chicken which was cut in quarters by the on duty server (this was over cooked and the skin was almost white which seemed strange for roast chicken).
When I was ready to leave about 45 minutes later I tried to spot the waiting person to ask for a bill but since no one was in sight and I had been on my own for almost an hour I headed for the cashier. It was apparent from my observations while waiting to speak to the cashier that there are some staffing and management issues that need to be addressed. When I told the cashier I needed a bill, I was told they need to find the waitress who finally appeared.
I was really disappointed because it was obvious that people were not being attended to and nobody seemed to care. There is simply no excuse when you are ignored for almost an hour. I doubt that I will be back.
