It's apparently been a summer of esthetic hedonism!
My first time at Lush and Lavish was for a birthday manicure. Despite the fact polish practically runs off my nails with my work-related hand hygiene, I wanted pretty finger tips for my party. A good friend joined me, and while we were mere meters from one another, we were basically back to back, and unable to chat; isn't that the whole fun of going for these kind of services with your girlfriends?!? The actual manicure looked good, but sadly, some finger nails didn't even make it to my shift a day and a half later. I've also been in for a brazilian when unable to get a time with my usual lady; they do a sugaring/waxing combo that did lead to less pain and less ingrowns.
The location and atmosphere scream hipster palace. The decor is somewhere between art deco and shabby chic (I do like!), the music more like I would hear on my evening excursions (again, I do like!). My major drawback from giving this place a more positive rating? The price.
The prices at this salon/spa are quite high. I decided to check it out only because I was given gift certificates; even with $25 off each visit, I was still paying more than I would at other locations for the same services. In my estimation, simply not worth the extra dolla's.
