| - I have given United Smiles of Kensington so many chances, even after every time I go for my checkup, I leave annoyed, angry and late for other appointments. I want to support businesses in Kensington, where I live, and left The Art of Dentistry in Yorkville (THE BEST DENTIST) when I moved to Kensington because of the convenience. But they are terrible at running a business. They are slow, they don't check you in when you arrive so you have to blatantly say "Hi, my name is XX, i'm here for my 10 am appointment". Then you wait, forever, even if you're the first appointment of the day. Today after 40 minutes I let them know that I was going to have to leave in 45 minutes for another appointment and would i still have time for my appointment, at which point the receptionist said "What's your name again?" and then I asked her to go ask someone how much longer it was going to take and if there'd be enough time for my appointment. She came back and said that they had a dental emergency and could I reschedule. The "dental emergency" was a woman who came in 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and said "i have a toothache and i was walking by so..." and so the hygienist took her instead, without letting me know this would push my appointment back.
When they do actually take you for your appointment, they don't floss your teeth. When I ask, they will grudgingly do it, or other times they still won't because they say it's not necessary.
They're slow, there's no music playing so you have to listen to other people's conversations or drilling, there's not even art on the wall to stare at. Just the chipped, cracked walls.
The only plus side is that my insurance covers the appointment - they don't go over the allotted insurance recommendations for pricing like other dentists do.
