  • "CBU donates 25% of each opening bid back to your organization. For every dollar bid thereafter,100% of the funds will go right back to you." I was highly encouraged to immediately pay for my (very expensive) opening bid item before the half way point into the event. Per auction Rep: "To make sure you win it." I thought a silent auction was about taking many different bids until the end of the event. I later found out that I was the only bidder on all the auction items that day! Could it be that all the opening bids were dramatically way too high? The item I purchased had an opening bid of high retail, according to sources on the internet. Lesson learned.
