This restaurant was sold to us as "the best Italian I've ever had," so my expectations were very high. The sommelier came to the table very quickly and helped us get a lovely Napa wine that wasn't too expensive. She was an expert and the best part of the visit.
The food was good, but not the best Italian I've ever had. The best Italian makes you feel like you've just come home, it's filling, and effortlessly done. The food here is a bit pretentious, in smaller portions, and seemed like it was trying too hard. Not to mention, the prices are insane. Just like everywhere on the strip.
I had the caprese salad, which was my favorite part of the meal. It was classic Italian with a large mound of fresh mozzarella right in the middle. The tomatoes were perfect. My entire choice was the short rib ravioli. I didn't really taste short rib at all, mostly just in your face truffle oil. It was very flavorful and rich. We had to ask for more bread to even out the strong flavors.
