I really enjoyed stopping in to the basilica on a work break when I was in downtown PHX. It's so good to see inner-city churches with doors unlocked, welcoming anybody in to pray or sit in quiet contemplation. The space is very beautiful and very sacred. It was immaculately clean and obviously well-loved.
On my way out, I saw a priest advising a homeless man on places to find food and shelter. AWESOME! This kind of compassion is the mission of the Church, and I was so happy to see it active and alive here.
