| - Not my first visit to Roka Akor, and most certainly not my last, but each and every time I am thoroughly impressed. We arrived and the restaurant was very busy. Manager was very friendly and went out of his way to circle back and alert us of two seats opening up at the bar, which helped avoid the wait. This was ideal after a long day of traveling and being out of the country for the last 10 days... In a country in which the cuisine was lacking to say the least! The bar was very busy when we first sat down, but bartender made sure to acknowledge us as he darted across the bar to grab us menus to peruse. Great awareness and very efficient service from start to finish.
We've been dying for good seafood so the tuna belly sashimi and black cod tasted even better than normal. The black cod is always cooked so perfectly, and is without question one of the best dishes in all of the valley. Perfect wine recommendation to compliment the food. Needless to say, about an hour or so later, a happy camper I was indeed. I've come to expect a next level experience from Roka, and this visit was no different.
Food: Too much to list. Black cod, dumplings, wagyu, sashimi some of the many highlights
Ambiance: Gorgeous space. Warm, sexy, inviting
Service: Always a positive. Bartender, Chris, was incredible on recent visit. (And not just because of the great name ;) )
Price: not cheap, but one of the few that are well worth the cost. Took a peek at the bar happy hour menu though and looked like some very attractive options. Based on this, I may have to become a MUCH more frequent guest!
