| - I stopped in here last weekend, and it was my 4th or 5th visit to this Treasure Hunt location. Once, in the past, I had taken some old and broken items to another jeweler, who offered me less than $10 for everything. Thinking that was way too low, I opted to leave with all my goodies and headed over to Treasure Hunt, where I was given $80 for the exact same items. Based on that one experience alone, I would give them 4 or 5 stars. I do like the place and, some basics: it is clean and there is an alarm system so you have to be buzzed in. Although, I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, since as soon as you buzz, they let you in.
At any rate, I had two broken necklaces and a few other things I was thinking about selling, if the price was right, ya know. There were two women working, both friendly. But, ugh...too friendly. The one promptly helped me with my items and was looking them over. My husband was with me and I made a comment about one of their rings. Within seconds, the other woman was up and directly across the counter from us. Before I know it, she's pulling out samples and talking about sizes and prices. I had to tell her a few times that I was not looking at buying anything today - duh, I brought stuff to sell - I was really just making a comment about how nice of a ring I thought this one was. My husband, who's usually quiet, even spoke up and said, she is just giving me birthday ideas. The woman eventually backed off. I was paid a fair price for the items I brought it. My husband had asked the first lady about some coins he has and she was happy to show him what they had, so he had an idea of what his were worth.
Overall, I do think this place pays the most for items. I am always aware in advance of what I take to a jeweler or pawn shop - meaning, if it's gold, silver, stainless steel, costume - so I know if someone's trying to get one over on me. For example, I've had other places tell me something is silver when I know it was white gold, cause I bought it myself dang it! I have not experienced that at Treasure Hunt. I would recommend this jeweler over any other in the area, just be cautious of the overzealous sales staff.
