  • The Flamingo is a fun affordable property, located in what I consider to be one of the best locations on the strip. Overall my experience at the Flamingo was positive - they've redone some of the rooms, the garden area is beautiful and there's lots of dining options. We stayed in an updated room but you can see from the photos that the furniture has seen better days. Beds were comfy, towels, linens and bathroom supplies were high quality as well. I was pleasantly surprised we had a room with a strip view and at how large the room was. On our first night I went to grab something out of the car and I didn't take my phone, when I came back up the elevator to our floor my party was standing at the end of the hallway and an alarm was playing " Please return to your room....... being investigated" it was hard to make out the words but the message was very concerning considering recent Vegas situations. We returned to our room and after about 15 minutes I called the front desk so ask what was happening and if we needed to stay in our rooms. Unfortunately the staff member has no information for me other then something was 'being investigated' and that we would hear additional information over the intercom. Not reassuring in the least. Eventually we decided to head out and there was no indication anywhere that something had happened, people were everywhere on our floor and in the lobby. On our last day we were sitting in an area of the Casino by an entrance and a large man walked in SCREAMING at the top of his lungs. He was large and looked somewhat normal but was just shouting 'Ahhhhh' over and over again and getting closer to people, I was too afraid to move but a lot of people literally ran. This happened for a few minutes until finally he just walked out. No Security ever came to the area to escort him out or came afterwards to check on people. A pretty positive experience at the Flamingo but it doesn't seem like there are a whole lot of visible systems in place to make people feel safe. These two incidents raised some red flags for me.
