There's only one word you need to know: beer.
This is a beer paradise. They have a constantly changing, but always large, list of beers on tap including:
- Ontario craft beers
- Quebec beers
- cask beers
- beers you have never heard of (i.e. beers brewed with beets or dates)
The ambience is alright - it's a little dark without any memorable decor. I guess they're really focusing all energy on the beer. In the summer you may be lucky enough to grab one of the 2 small tables on the patio. The tables at the front of the bar aren't a bad alternative with the doors/windows wide open. The back of the restaurant is a little sad.
I haven't tried the food, but some friends said it was pretty disappointing. This was within a week of their opening, so I'd give it another shot to see if they worked out the kinks.
**EDIT
I originally mentioned that Barhop and Smokeless Joe's had the same owner. I stand corrected - Barhop is not connected with Smokeless Joe's at all (except that they both have great beer!)
