Ok so I'm on a weird post baby diet-no sugars and low to no carbs. I did not really understand this AYCE culture, in Europe we had carousel sushi and sashimi and we had eat in Tepenyaki/ Sushi restaurants (I think in USA the equivalent would be a high class of that old restaurant Benihana?). So I was DYING for sushi but know I really crave the wasabi (it clears me out and my sinuses are awful living here in the Anus Mundi).
I walked in and my waitress, whose name escapes me and I am so sorry as she was super sweet to me, I hope management can answer with her name, well she and a guy named Stefan were literally really interested in helping me indulge. Of course I could not get the AYCE (and with all that rice I would find it pretty disgusting even not on a diet-and honestly watching some people in America eat actually scares me)-but suffice to say I had hot sake (oddly no sugar and almost no carbs-1.4carbs per serving and NO sugars due to how it is fermented and I love it) so I indulged in both of my desires, luckily Sake does not really affect me for some reason, a glass of wine would make me drunk and red in the face but sake does very little I just love the taste.
I was eating sashimi made by Mexicans and a Filipino--being waited on by a Bulgarian and a girl who had Asian and Mexican in her (the waitress whose name escapes me) and I was all by myself just eating and I swear I gave most Americans a run for their money with the way I ate. It was the best "splurge" (food and money) I made in a long time. I really loved this place and any review that says the waitstaff are not attentive, well maybe you are not receptive as when you are open and you let people know what you want, you generally get what you want and the service here was superb.
