Just a gorgeous place, another hidden gem in the city that most people have no idea exists!
We often walk here with our little dog. Lots of people walk their own dogs here, but you never see professional dog walkers, unless you go up the hill at Stan Wadlow Park (there is an off-leash park there).
You can walk from Dawes Road to Woodbine Avenue easily and almost directly in 20 minutes or so.
There are a series of bridges that enable you to choose whatever length of walk you want (i.e. loop back to the beginning by crossing over the bridge from the main trail to the other side of the creek).
There are also a number of "gateway" staircases up to streets - check a map to identify all the entry points - impressive number to choose from. Really neat if you're the type of person that likes to vary their walks.
There are a ton of memorial plaques along the way with beautiful inscriptions. What a lovely way to pay tribute to a loved one.
There are also benches, fire pits, picnic tables, a drinking fountain or two, and even a couple of outdoor meeting spaces.
Ample parking at the Dawes Road entrance - our preferred way in.
An incredibly special place. Check it out!
