  • Review is for the nightclub on a Saturday night. I'm updating my review again because I'M SO TIRED OF HOUSE MUSIC AT THE CLUB. Also, the Tao VIP staff have never disappointed me. So as of late, house music has been taking over all of the most popular clubs in Vegas & LA. Tao will also advertise a house DJ every once in a while. And don't get me wrong, I like *good* house music well enough - in moderation. But when it gets so bad that you have to go to the hoodest of hood clubs just to get some hip-hop music - on any day of the week... that's when I really started to appreciate Tao. Tao is just as big as the other top clubs in Vegas and in the summertime, they open up Tao Beach upstairs. I have always liked the multi-level setup at Tao because they have multiple DJs, which means more than one music option. In my opinion, the main drawback to Tao is that the main dance floor with the go-go dancers is way too crowded unless you have table service (the hip-hop room at Marquee has the exact same problem). But, if you go to the other room on the second floor, there's enough space to dance. And with the DJs that were performing at Tao the last time I went, I could finally DANCE - not just spaz around to house music. I loved the DJ, who was obviously from the bay (he played Black & Orange). He went on for over an hour playing West Coast hip-hop, with a good half hour segment of hyphy. This kind of music may not be for everyone, but it's definitely for me =) So overall, I think Tao deserves 5 stars. They've been around for a little longer, so if you're all about the hype and the crowd, maybe you won't be as satisfied. But if you want a good, well-balanced mix of hip-hop, top 40, and electronic music in Vegas - I recommend Tao.
