  • There are so MANY things that went wrong when we hired Cameo Pools to do our pool remodel that I simply can't write them all down; I will give you, the consumer, the reader's digest version. If you want any specific details or pictures of the final product, please email me. When our pebble tech replaster and Kool deck refinishing were completed, we immediately noticed something wrong with the Kool deck border around the pool and the separate spa. Instead of using a paint for the darker accents, they mixed together a powder and allegedly "sealed" it after applying this. This was NOT the exact color or material the salesperson showed us on the sample board. After a few weeks we noticed water stains somehow embedded in the "faux" accent finish they used -- it wasn't paint. So, the Kool deck crew came out and did it again and 'sealed" it with a spray again. Then we noticed some areas were darker than others, so they came out again and tried to fix it. Then the third time we noticed it, we gave up and were tired of the poor workmanship. Then, we noticed that the plastic drains and expansion tubes separating the pieces of Kool deck started to discolor due to the fact that they were stripped during the resurfacing of the Kool Deck. Our saleswoman promised to come out and repaint them, but she never did. i later found out that she left the company. And the Kool deck subcontractor that Cameo used went out of business (no surprise). So, even though our 2 year warranty had expired, I figured Cameo would still want to do the repairs since the job was never done correctly. they refused. Cameo also installed a new salt water system, but the guy who did it forgot to PLUG IT IN! So, after 2 weeks we had algae growing in our newly remodeled pool. They are so incompetent, it's a wonder they are still in business. Now, I am sure there are many satisfied customers, but I warn you now -- don't use Cameo Pools unless you are willing to spend the time and energy for VARIOUS re-dos, and many return visits form their subcontractors. One last little detail on the poor workmanship: one section of our Kool deck is already completely separated (not a crack) from the underlying cement slab -- and this happened after one year. Parts of our Kool deck look 15 years old when it's only 3 years old! Save yourself some headaches and go with a bigger, more reputable company that would do the job right the first time and ensure that their customers get what they paid for. I know we certainly did not!
