For years, Charlotte International Airport (CLT) was a place for me to change flights. I had never left this airport until this trip.
I had plenty of time to explore this airport. I arrived from Toronto just fine. I couldn't find the baggage carousel that I needed, for I got there before the sign had changed. I asked a helpful man at the information desk who pointed me in the right direction.
The airport is going through some construction. I didn't get the moving walkway going to baggage, but I did heading to the gate to fly home moments ago.
I am pleased that I didn't need a shuttle bus to rent a car. You simply walk across the street. If you're with National's Emerald Club, just head out and get the car that you want.
I had to pick up a friend from the airport. Our other friend and I headed to arrivals. She needed to use the washroom, so I dropped her off to greet our friend as I headed over to the cell phone lot. It's nicely designed and well-lit. I got word that they were both ready and headed over to pick them up. Traffic does get busy, but the wait isn't bad.
On Monday, both friends were heading back home. I dropped my first friend off at 5:00 am and my other one at 9:40 am at departures. All was smooth.
I am heading home today. Finding the car rental return was straightforward. The National person was kind to tell me where the terminal was.
I checked in at the Air Canada counter without waiting. Getting through security was fine. You simply need to wait a bit and breathe.
I like CLT. One terminal. Easy. No stress.
