I was purchasing an Used Mazda 3 from a non-Mazda Dealer that had the Mazda 3 Traded-In by a customer who purchased a new Chrysler 200.
Even though the Dealer was selling the car certified with Safety & E-Tested, it didn't feel right even after 2 test-drives and 2 visits.
So I called the nearest Mazda Dealership, which turned out to be, Westowne Mazda, and told them about my situation.
They recommended the $105 plus taxes 50-point inspection, and made an appointment for me. I was running a bit late (about 15 mins. behind schdeule) stuck negotiating at the Dealership, and a guy from Westowne Mazda called me asking if I was coming in or needed to re-schedule. I told him I'm running late, and he re-scheduled an appointment 30 mins. after my original appointment, giving me ample time to finish my negotiations and drive over.
This was the best $120 (approximately after taxes) I spent. Turned out the Dealer was trying to scam me, and the car needed about $5000 in repairs (parts + labour). Also got some pretty good off-the-record man-to-man advice being a first time a Mazda/Mazda 3 owner.
