I visited this restaurant just a few days ago to celebrate my birthday. I was in town from Winston Salem visiting friends and there were so many restaurant options to choose from. I decided upon Roosters after reading many positive Yelp reviews and they did not steer me wrong! The first thing you notice about Roosters upon walking in is the smell. OMG the food aroma was so enticing. I knew right away this was going to be a good experience. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the music was awesome....a mix of older soul music. They had this really cool wall of Roosters to your left and the cooking area was right in the middle of the restaurant so you could see what was going on. We started with drinks. First, I ordered the pineapple crush (I think that's the name). I didn't like the drink but I heard it was pretty popular. The waiter immediately whisked it away and returned with my replacement, which was called Bourbon something or other... Sorry I forgot to write it down. But it was absolutely delicious. We started with an order of calamari for an appetizer and the free bread that came when we sat. It was super good and big enough for the three of us to share. Everything here is ala carte and the sides are big enough for two people to share. I ordered the scallops, my friend ordered the hangar steak and my son ordered the burger and fries. All three were extremely good! We also ordered three sides to share... The wilted spinach, mac and cheese and grilled corn. They were so good that I couldn't even pick a favorite!!! Finally, they offered me a complementary dessert since it was my birthday and I went with the coconut cake. It was almost like a coconut tres leche tower of yummy goodness. Moist and Rich and enough for the three of us to share. They even put a little candle on the top. The service here was top notch. Everything came out quickly and cooked to order. The waiter was on point and never let our drinks empty. Several others (possibly managers) even came around to ask if we were enjoying our meal and needed anything. If I lived in Charlotte, I would visit this place as much as possible. It's an upscale vibe but not one that you have to wear a shirt and tie to dine. I highly highly recommend this restaurant.
