| - So..... have to find a creative way to rate this accurately. For Vegas standards, it's a 3-star Chinese restaurant, but given its location at the Monte Carlo, I'd say it's fairly in like with expectations.
As an absolute rating of Chinese food, I'd say it's a solid 3. You'd expect to find this quality at a 24-hour joint in Hong Kong, which makes it very authentic, but quality is perfect for a reasonably drunk and happy crowd. Food is slightly saltier than I'd like, but when you're starving, it's excellent. However, the true test was mom. She didn't necessarily hate it, but wasn't a huge fan (mom hates 24-hour Chinese eateries).
Noodles are soggy, calamari is over salted, and Cantonese roast duck is about as dry as asphalt. BUT the Peking duck was excellent, as was the fried scallop and egg white fried rice. Those 2 dishes earned top marks and made the whole dining experience worth 2 visits.
So don't bother if you're looking for something on par with Fin at the Mirage, or even Red 8 at the Wynn. But if you're hungry or inexperienced with top-shelf Cantonese, this is a decent starting place.
