I have been coming here regularly for the last four years and I don't know why it has taken me so long to write a review. GHHK fills an important niche in midtown, there is no razzle dazzle here, this is not PF Chang, GHHK is like an eatery you can find in any respectable Chinatown, and since Phoenix does not have a Chinatown, this is about as close as you will get.. I don't know any restaurant that can serve lunch faster than the Gourmet House, even when it comes to large groups. The ambiance is very casual and there is no dreaded fluorescent lighting which instantly creates a relaxing environment. The waitstaff is very friendly, prices very reasonable and the food is several steps above average. Check out their seasonal specials like the medicine soup (does not taste like medicine) in the winter and fresh mangoes with sweet sticky rice in the summer. I don't know what I would do if this place ever went out of business,
