| - Take the time to put tape on your box before dropping off! I don't keep packing tape at home because I don't ship much. When I do, it's usually through USPS. Because the post office will tape up your box for you without a second thought, I thought it would be the same with UPS. Nope! It was going well. The worker (without so much as a word) walked over and got the roll of tape and proceeded to place one strip over the top of the box to seal it. So far so good, right? Well, I smiled and thanked him and asked if that was all, feeling rather satisfied about the ease of the process when he finally spoke and said, "That will just be $1 for the tape." I gave him a look of disbelief, but ultimately decided that saying anything to him about how ridiculous that price is would serve no purpose, so I swiped my card and left.
So here's my thing, I don't necessarily wish that I still had my dollar instead of them. I have other dollars. My issue is the middle finger I got from the company. That small strip of tape plus the 5 seconds of the worker's time could not have cost more than $0.05 max. It's pretty rotten of them to charge a whole dollar for it. Well, lesson learned. I will try to ship with FedEx or USPS if I can. If not, I will use my own strip of tape.
