  • I contacted Bellons for a quote to remove some trees on a Friday, June 7,2013. They were there on the following Monday morning and gave me a quote. Exactly a week later, the following Monday, I called them and told them to go ahead and start the job. They said they would be there on Wednesday, about 48 hours later. I thought great, finally a responsive contractor. Well, Wednesday morning came and went with no Bellons. I called, and was told they were running late, and that they would be there at 1pm that day. Fine, but they never showed up. They never called. Finally, on that Friday afternoon, after leaving repeated messages on their answering machine which were never returned, they answered the phone. At that point I was told they were too busy, the quote they had given me was too low (which was in fact 3% lower than the closest other bid), and they could not do the work. When asked what had changed in the 48 hours between that Monday and Wednesday and why they had not called me, they hung up on me. FYI, I had not been rude or loud in the conversation either. I was so mad, I decided to write my first review. If I could hand out negative stars, I would!
