Needed a to find a gym for the summer and I love coming here. The classes are great and non-intimidating. You'll find participants of all shapes, sizes, and ages and the class size is never overly crowded. The instructors are also very friendly and encouraging. I especially love Anna's spin classes - she sets the mood of the class perfectly with upbeat music, black lights, and a glowing disco ball! The spin room was a bit difficult for me to find the first time around though. It's across from the main studio room - the entrance is in the column behind the weight machines - there's a door with a few steps down that leads you into the secluded spin room.
There's also a cardio theatre in the back of the gym. I wish they'd bring this concept to NYC. I haven't come across any gyms so far in my area that have this yet. Maybe I just like working out in the dark...
The ladies locker room is also very clean.
One downside is that the gym doesn't offer any classes on Sundays. I'm used to taking at least one class each on a Saturday and Sunday when I'll know I have no "need to work late" excuses.
