| - My family and I were visiting Las Vegas because my daughter and her volleyball were competing in the SCVA 31st Annual Las Vegas Classic. Prior to arriving to Las Vegas, 808 Hawaiian Mixed Plate was one of several restaurants I had book marked and planned to visit. After my daughter's tournament ended on Monday, I brought the entire family to get our Hawaiian food grinds on. After our visit, anyone visiting Las Vegas and is a fan of Hawaiian food, then 808 Hawaiian Mixed Plate should not be missed.
808 Hawaiian is a pleasant restaurant. It's not a big restaurant, but it can accommodate a good amount of people. There are booths along both sides of the restaurant's walls and there are table and chairs lining the middle. I thought the booths with the wicker basket backings was a nice touch. The decor is minimal with Hawaiian still pictures hanging on the walls. There are two televisions mounted high for your viewing pleasure. 808 Hawaiian's menu is not complicated and has a good selection of food. The ladies behind the counter who take your order were very friendly. 808 Hawaiian is an order first, take your seat, and the food is brought out to you type restaurant.
The reason I took one star away from 808 Hawaiian was because they ran out of poke when we tried to order around 1:30pm. Also, my kids ordered the Teri Beef bowls, which although they were tasty, the amount of food served was small for the $8 price. My kids like what they ordered, but it wasn't value for the money. The main reason why I gave 808 Hawaiian Mixed Plate a strong 4 star rating was solely for the Loco Moco plate I ordered. 808 Hawaiian's Loco Moco was the best Loco Moco I've eaten EVER. I really loved the white sticky that comes with this plate. The consistency of the rice was perfect. This Loco Moco had two large sized hamburger patties cooked just right and seasoned where the meat was really tasty. The gravy that covered the patties and the rice was slurp worthy and is making me salivate just thinking about it. The two sunny side eggs on top of everything was cooked just right and yolk flowed perfectly as I broke it. Not only was this Loco Moco delicious, it was very satisfying. Must. Order. Plate.
I'm glad both my kids play volleyball because there will more future Las Vegas volleyball tournaments. Just on 808 Hawaiian's Loco Moco plate alone, I will make it a point to visit this restaurant when we visit Las Vegas again.
