Aside from the fact that multiplexes are thieves with storefronts when it comes to their pricing, I have always liked the Scotiabank Theatre. Even though it goes by this name, I (and many I know) still call it the Paramount Theatre, so if that's what you're looking for, this is it.
Anyone who says the movie industry is dying clearly doesn't come here often because it is often packed. If you go in on a Friday or Saturday, chances are you're pushing through crowds. They provide a good offering of 12:01am showings when hyped genre movies opening. Movies like Harry Potter or most superhero movies receive this treatment. It's always worth going to a midnight showing because that's when the theatre bubbles with the most excitement.
As mentioned, tickets are expensive ($12.50 these days). Concessions are always ridiculously priced, but fear not, it's easy to sneak in a can of pop or some outside snacks in a jacket pocket.
