  • Ah, Forno Cultura. I am actually surprised that this place is so low rated. I have discovered Forno Cultura about 2-3 years ago after a nice dinner at WVRST (the main location is located right below them). I have been a loyal customer since then and I can't tell you how thrilled I was when I found out they were opening a new location just steps away from my office. I can comfortably state that the one at 100 King Street W, Concourse Level, is as good as the main one. Being Italian, I know how a good Italian bakery should be. Bread is one of the main items we can't live without and it can't be missing from our dining tables. So believe me when I say that Forno Cultura is an excellent bakery ...at 360 degrees. They make and bake all in house (well, not at First Canadian Place simply because they don't have the space necessary for baking). But the parent location, which is only 10 minutes away, makes sure they get everything delivered fresh, twice a day. All the ingredients are carefully chosen Fresh bread that is so soft inside while keeping its crust crunchy. Fresh sweet temptations, never too sweet and always well balance in all the ingredients used. Everything, in the name of traditional recipes you can only find in the Southern part of Italy. Whoever feels that their products are overpriced, well, think again. Yes, because if you start comparing the cost you have to front for a low quality sandwich that only God knows how long has it been frozen for and the amount of chemical it holds to make it last for the longest time as possible, Forno Cultura prices its food half of what a chain store would have you paying theirs. Higher quality for half of the cost a franchise would charge you if they would go down the same road. So, two thumbs up for them. No questions about it.
